Vega Imaging Informatics Successfully Completes Migration of 60,000+ Non-DICOM Files to Cloud-based PACS

Ontario, Calif., September 25, 2026 — Vega Imaging Informatics, under core division, Vega Pro,has successfully completed the conversion and migration of over 60,000 non-DICOM objects into a cloud-based PACS environment, demonstrating its migration capabilities at scale and practical expertise transferring legacy non-DICOM clinical content into a standards-based imaging environment.

This migration project involved using a DICOM conversion tool to execute the conversion procedures necessary to build valid DICOM objects from non-DICOM legacy files, along withcorresponding reference information for each file. Once data was converted, DICOM migration tools were used to migrate the resulting objects into a cloud-based PACS. Validation of all transferred files was then carried out.

For healthcare organizations undertaking PACS modernization, the ability to account for legacy documents, rather than just traditional DICOM imaging studies, can be an integral component of a complete migration strategy. Rather than limiting a PACS migration to traditional DICOM imaging studies, this project addressed the broader challenge of incorporating documents that may reside in legacy systems alongside imaging records, bridging non-DICOM and DICOM environments.
